st. mary's river.

anyone who cruises the potomac river knows about st. mary's.  st. mary's city no longer exists but st. mary's college sits on top of the excavation and it is a beautiful campus situated next to an absolutely gorgeous body of water - horseshoe bend on st. mary's river.  i would imagine that the tranquil scenery would be very conducive to study and things academic!  it is where tom's youngest, ted, went to school.  we were meeting up with ted and his wife, maggie, as they were returning to officiate the national collegiate sailing championships.  they managed to squeeze in some time with us to get caught up.  i failed to get a photo of the trash bag with all of the empty beer cans that they took back with them when they left the boat.  i completely forgot to bring out my camera! in fact, i had to steal a photo of father and son from maggie (thank you, maggie!).

we know what ted will look like in his 50s

i managed to remember to get a pic of the sailing boats.

and a pic of a boat i wouldn't mind owning.  don't get me wrong - tadhana is beautiful - but the fleming...  well, see for yourself.

a fleming 55

and the sunset.
